I am Deborah Ardell Hill LMT. I have over 1600 hours of classroom education, in body work and related subjects. I have studied with such notable teachers as Augustine Fong (Shiatsu and Tai Chi), Mary Burmeister (Jin Shin Jyutsu), Jim Asher (Cranial-Sacral therapy), Pam Hyde-Nakai (Herbology), and Jo Dunning (a Spiritual teacher). I have 15 years of practical experience in a spa setting and in private practice. I worked at Canyon Ranch in Tucson, AZ for 7 years and as a guest practitioner at Esalen Institute for 4 years. For 8 years I have maintained a successful massage practice with the help of referrals from medical and chiropractic doctors. I have taught Reflexology courses for the past 7 years. I have offered courses at Esalen Institute for the past 4 years, in addition, this year I will be teaching at the Naturopathic College in Portland OR and other locations (see schedule below). I am a nationally certified body work, a former City of Tucson massage Examiner and Author of "Spiritual Reflexology", (available July 1999).

There is a process happening that is going to have universal, planetary, community, local and individual consequences. The process I am speaking of is a necessary shift and a natural process that is taking place whether you are conscious of it or not.

It has been called insights, by the author of Celestine Prophecies. Donald Walsch made reference to it in his book Conversations with God, when he wrote ‘All there is, is God’. Other references you will hear or read about in the near future are, shifts in dimensions or realities from third to fourth dimension, moving from duality to oneness. Oprah makes mention of it in her new season of ‘Change your life TV’, when she speaks of the "capital Who of who we are".

Spiritual Reflexology helps the process by changing the vibratory rate in our body, setting in motion an environment that will increase our vibration. It will change how we feel, think, speak, act, live and be in the world.

Traditionally Reflexology focused on the physical symptoms and concerns in the body through the nervous system. Modern Reflexologist have made the leap to understand that Reflexology also addresses the energetic body through the meridian system. A meridian is a pathway through which energy flows. Traditional Chinese Medicine uses this principle in Acupuncture and Acupressure.

Through my studies I have found that Reflexology can also be used to access the vibratory/spiritual aspect in our bodies, using various functions of the body; nervous system, electro-magnetic system, bio-chemical processes, physical, mental/emotional and energetic functions.

No one modality has claimed to address so many areas of our being. Through the use of two aspects of consciousness, attention and intention, all modalities have the ability to address all functions of the body.

Reflexology is a natural treatment for these functions. It has always been an internal process, stimulating or sedating the reflexes, helping to bring the body into homeostasis or balance and offering a massage from the inside out…

REFLEXOLOGY COURSES

Basic and Intermediate: The basic course offers insights into the history of Reflexology, gives several definitions and encourages the students to define Reflexology for themselves. A road map of how to find the reflexes is offered, as well as methods of feeling the reflexes and the techniques to address each one.

Contra indications, body mechanics, ethics and general procedures are all discussed. The intermediate course teaches the function of the glands and organs of the body and the energy pathways in the feet and hands.

Visuals are used in both classes to help students focus on the reflexes along with hands-on practice. The classes are very interactive, (questions and answers, group presentations). The material is taught to access several of our human intelligences, (linguistic, logical, spatial) to make the classes informative, memorable and fun. Cost: $495 per student.

*La Stone Reflexology: La Stone Reflexology combines Traditional Reflexology with the healing power of stones and temperature. The class begins with teaching proper stone placement and the energy work of La Stone Therapy; and continues with techniques and a sequence for a complete work-up on feet and hands with the use of hot and cold stones. Cost: $540 per student plus supplies (stones, roasters, etc.).

*Spiritual Reflexology: Spiritual Reflexology combines Traditional Reflexology, energy movement and the power of two aspects of consciousness; Attention and Intention. The class is taught using specific techniques and a method of ‘setting’ the reflexes to activate the spiritual aspects of each gland, organ and body part. Cost: $360.

The basic and intermediate courses and the La Stone course require 30 hours each of classroom instruction in a 4 day format The Spiritual Reflexology course requires 20 hours of classroom instruction in a 3 day format

*La Stone and Spiritual Reflexology are advanced courses. Basic training in Reflexology is required for attendance.
